These super seedy crackers are delicious and an easy way to get in that "crunch" whilst being nutritionally dense! You can add them to dips, eggs, salads, cheese platters or simply on their own! They are also relatively cheap to make (pretty sure I spent under $7 in the bulk foods store) compared to store bought brands that charge up to $15!
I hope you can enjoy this recipe as much as I did and get munchin!
Ingredients
1 cup ground flaxseed
1/2 cup ground pepita’s
1/3 cup sesame
1/4 cup chia
1 and 1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tspn your favourite dried herbs (I used a morrocan spice mix)
Method
Pre-heat dehydrator to 45 degrees
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well
Leave to sit/ thicken for 5 minutes
Divide the mixture across 3 trays onto baking paper
Put another sheet of baking paper on top of 1 tray and using a rolling pin, roll into a large thin cracker
Repeat with the other 2 trays
Place all 3 trays in the dehydrator for 6-8 hours or until desired crispness
Remove trays and break into smaller crackers
Pull lots of dips out of the fridge and consume with crackers! ***I put the flax and pepita’s into the NutriBullet to make them into a course sand-like texture
TIP: Whole flax goes straight through the digestive system and into your poop. Grinding it allows you to receive its nutritive benefits including omega-3’s and phytoestrogenic effects!
Makes approx. 25 crackers
